Stonebrooke Golf Club is located southwest of the Twin cities in Shakopee, MN, two miles south of Highway 169 on Co. Rd. 79. The course was designed by Tom Haugen in 1989 and is 6475 yards from the Black tees, 136 slope, and 71.7 course rating. Lots of water and some OB, parkland style course, has one hole, par 4, where you hit the drive across a big lake, then take a ferry to the other side. When I first played there, early in the morning the ferry operator hadn't arrived yet, so I had to trek around and through a forest to get there. Otherwise, nice parkland style course, very interesting hole design and variety, well conditioned. Few homes on the course, nice large tract of land, holes aren't cramped.

The course was in great shape. The downfall to this course was if you didnt drive it straight, you were in trouble. There is no first cut of rough so hit the ball in the fairway. The rough is some of the thickiest I have ever played in. Its not unmanagable but you can really attack the course from the fairway!!
