Star Valley Ranch is about 4 hours from Salt Lake, and almost two from Idaho Falls, and is located next to the Bridger-Teton National Forest in the Star Valley, Actually a 27 hole course here, the 9 hole Aspen Hills, and the 18 hole Cedar Creek course, both routed through a sparsely populated residential community here. Both courses were designed by Harold Stewart, the Aspen Hills is 3100 yards, 34.8/123. Cedar Creek is 6,446 yards from the tips 69.7/121. The course routings are straightforward out and back through the development at the base of the Salt River Mountain Range. Course conditions leave a bit to be desired, but still a playable course, with reasonable rates, and one of your only choices for golf in the general area. The fairways are tree lined, there is some elevation change, and a few holes with water, but very playable, you could easily shoot below your handicap.

The rough in good shape as well as the challenging layout and greens in good shape, Star Valley is really becoming one of my favorites. Its a good layout for a golfer looking for a challenge. Its long from the tips, but there is a tee for anyone.
