Star Hill Golf Club

Star Hill is on the north side of Cape Carteret, north of the Emerald Isle, 27 hole layout, routed through a residential community. From the Blue tees, the Sands nine plays to 3,244 yards, 69.8/114 ratings; the Pines, 3,270 yards, 71/121 ratings; and the Lakes at 3,381 yards, 70.8/121 ratings. They're a little proud of their rates- in season, but they do come off it a bit with late afternoon and twilight rates. We always play here when at the beach, it's a challenging layout, wide open enough for the most part off the tee, but narrows up a bit on approach to the greens. Well conditioned generally, the pace of play is well managed here, as they have a membership that keeps play moving along. Fairly level layout with tree lined fairways, doglegs, water, and a good amount of bunkers. Good service, they make you feel like a member for the day here.
