About an hour northeast of Birmingham, England, Stapleford Park is known as a country house hotel, a mini Gleneagles if you will. The course was designed by Donald Steel, and is routed through a terrain of woodlands, ponds, and streams which hasn't been modified much with the design. It plays to 6,400 yards from the regular tees, par 73 The River Eye runs through the course, and comes into play on four holes. Scottish-style revetted bunkers are plentiful here as are grassy humps and hollows shape the holes. Wonderful setting, and one of the best conditioned courses we have played here. Great example of a classic parkland layout.
