Stallion Mountain is on the southeast side of Las Vegas, off Flamingo and east of Boulder Highway. It's a desert style layout, routed through a residential community, but doesn't feel stuffed in with the homes, and mostly a lot of room off the tee. It's a Jim Colbert/Jeff Brauer design, 7,300 yards from the tips with 5 sets of tees, we play from the White tees at 6,378 yards, 69.0/123 course and slope, and find it fair and playable, yet a good test. The course was closed for a while, but has re-opened and was in good condition the last time out. It was a well regarded course before it closed and was the venue for The Golf Channel’s Big Break II and also past of the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Classic and the PGA Tour’s Las Vegas Invitational years ago. Interesting and fun layout, plenty of risk/reward, nice views and a substantial clubhouse. We're pleased it's back open, and will now become part of our rota of courses in the LV area.
