Spooner is in northwest Wisconsin near the Minnesota border in the town of Spooner on Spooner Lake, about an hour and a half north of Eau Claire. It's a short old style course from the 1920's, playing to only 6400 yards, 128 slope from the back tees, and designed by Harry Vardon's brother, Tom. It's a par 71, and can play from 5000 yards to 6400 yards. Very nice course, parkland setting, a private club feel, good conditions, very reasonable rates, and very challenging with the tight fairways and small greens. Would always play here again when in the area.
