SouthWood Golf Club is in a master planned community on the southeast side of Tallahassee, a private club, but is still open to public play.
It was designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates, and plays to 7,172 yards, and 132 slope from the back tees, but with four other options. The course is routed through rolling hills, and meadows, with tree lined fairways with a good amount of sand, but little water in play. They've given you enough room off the tee, it's an enjoyable golf course that just keeps getting better as it matures. It's very well conditioned, good guest service, an excellent range, and an interesting and varied layout.
