Southgate is on the south side of St George, off exit 6 of the I-15. It's routed through a residential development right next to the Interstate with a combination of more open holes mixed with some with are lined with young trees. It's a short course at 6,100 yards, par 70, 69.1/118 ratings, designed by John Lagant in the 1960's. The front nine is a little cramped, the back side looks like they had more land to develop a decent course on. Easily walkable, not a high end or upscale course like some of the others in the area, better for the higher handicappers, even beginners, except there's a lot of water on the front side. Nice setting though along the Santa Clara River with good views out to Tonaquint Mountain. Fair course to warm up on before you tackle some of the others in town.
