Southern Hills Plantation

Yet another stalled real estate development with a fine golf course in Florida. Had been private, but is open to "limited" public play or member for a day, let me tell you, they'll take as much public play as they can get. If they have 100 members here, I'd be surprised. They're keeping the course in reasonably good shape, it's a Pete Dye design which is always a well done layout. It's on the south side of Brooksville on US 41, about 45 minutes north of Tampa. The course has a more northern feel to it, tree lined and hilly fairways, the landing zones are good sized off the tee, but the greens are well guarded. Mostly a straightforward design, and from the blue tees plays to around 7,000 yards, 74.1/134, and is all the challenge you will need.
