Souhegan Woods is 20 minutes northwest of Nashua in Amherst off County Road. Beautiful parkland style of golf course with a challenging and thoughtful layout designed by Phil Friel in the early 1990's. The course is routed through a pine tree forest with tight tree lined holes, very straightforward, but requiring accurate drives, a good short game, and sand play. It's a test but playable, good sized driving range and putting greens to practice on before heading out. It's 6,500+ yards from the Blue tees, 122 slope, and 6,122 yards from the White tees, 121 slope. There's a good amount of OB along the course with homes lining the holes, but mostly hidden by the trees. The greens are good sized, with tiers and swales, moderate speed, and usually in great shape.
