The course is an old classic, dating back to 1928 and designed by Sam Whiting, who designed the Olympic Club Lake Course, with some updating by Robert Muir Graves in 1991. It's a very strong, and expensive parkland style course at 7100 yards from the back tees, and has been host to some Champion tour events as well as U.S. Open qualifier. It's a private club, but part of the Fairmount's Mission Inn Resort, and you need to be a guest to play here. The course is routed over rolling hills with oak tree lined fairways with great views of the nearby Mayacamas Mountains and surrounding vineyards, and is a interesting and very challenging course in excellent conditions, just a little expensive.
