Simi Hills is located on the corner of Stearns and Alamo, just ½ mile north of the 118 freeway, sandwiched between the foothills and a residential development. It's a Ted Robinson design from the early 1980's, which can play from 5,400 to 6,400 yards, we play from the White tees at 6,050 yards, 68.8/121, and it's a fine challenge. It's relatively level, easily walkable, and has matured over the years such that the original trees planted now define the fairways, and really impact play. Forgiving and playable, the only problem we ever have here is the pace of play, and the expense of playing on the weekends. It's fairly well bunkered, there's water on eight of the holes, and all of the fairways are tree lined. The greens are mid-sized with a little slope and undulation, and are generally in good shape. Not a high end golf course experience, but a good basic track, and a nice practice facility.
