Shalimar Pointe is routed through an established housing development on the west side of Elgin AFM on Choctawhatchee Bay. The course is parkland style, designed by Finger/Dye redesign of the original layout by Bill Amick, and plays to par 72, 6,765 yards, 132 slope from the back tees. Lot's of traps, some long waste area type, water in play on a number of holes, tree lined or housing lined fairways, challenging course requires accuracy off the tee and on approach to the green complexes. Was host to the Emerald Coast tour for a while. Good choice for an inexpensive round in the area.
