Seapoint is between Dublin and Newry on the Irish Sea at Drogheda near Termonfeckin. It's a testing links layout just two miles from County Louth, so a nice 36 hole day of pure links golf. Scenic course through the natural sand dunes, from the back tees it's a a testing 7,150 yard, par 72 course set on natural links land. The front nine has a heath land feel with a good amount of gorse and mature tress lining the boundary off the course. Water comes into play on 5 of the holes. The back nine is close to the sea and has rumpled fairways, thick rough and deep bunkers, more of a shotmaker's course, both of the tee and into the greens. It opened in June 1993 and was designed by Des Smyth. Not a usual must play, but with County Louth, and the lower rates, an enjoyable time here.

Yea, I know I'm not a scratch golfer who is up to the challenge of this demanding course(I did par several holes with some birdie opportunities. We played it on a 36 hole day combined with County Louth nearby. Enjoyable, but tough course, made all the harder with the wind and rain. Would like to come back to both courses in nice weather.
