Sea Trail Golf Resort - Jones

Sea Trail Plantation is just across the border from Little River in Sunset Beach, NC. Nice full line resort with accommodations, and three 18 hole championship golf courses. The Willard Byrd course is highly rated as a best course for women, and can play from 4700 to 6800 yards, with slopes of 110 to 130. Parkland style of layout through the trees with water in play, and well bunkered, but it the most fair of all of the courses here. The Rees Jones Golf Course plays to 4900 yards to 6700 yards, with slope between 122 and 135. Forgiving wide fairways off the tee, mounded fairways and water on 11 holes, more challenging than the Byrd layout, and a good test with the greens protected by huge waste bunkers and water. The Dan Maples course is the original course here, plays from 5090 to 6751 yards, with slope ranging from 117 to 134 and course rating from 68.6 to 71.5. Parkland style of design through the pine trees, unique and isolated holes that are routed along Calabash Creek, the most challenging of the three courses.
