Scovill is a Park District course on the west side of Decatur, on Main Street near I-72. It's an original Tom Bendelow design from the 1920's which was later redesigned by Dick Nugent. Parkland style of course design with some tight tree lined fairways, a tough course if you spray the ball off the tee, and plays to a par 71, 5900 yards, 119 slope, and 67.8 course rating. Great for new beginning golfers, higher handicappers and a favorite of the ladies. Even for the low handicappers, unless you follow good course management, you won't shoot your handicap here. Well maintained course, great low fees.
