Sapphire Mountain Golf Club

Cashiers National is about 10 minutes east of Cashiers on US 64. It's routed through an upscale residential development, but you wouldn't know there's homes lining the holes for all the trees. Each holes is a tree lined corridor, some fairly tight, and it's a good test of golf. The course originally opened in the 1980's, and was recently upgraded, the architect was Ron Garl. From the back tees it can play to 6,327 yards with a 71.2 course rating and a 134 slope with three other tees to as short as 4,624 yards. Beautiful scenery and setting throughout the course, there's even a waterfall at the 13th. Significant elevation change throughout, not walkable at all. This is definitely a hidden gem, and almost always in good shape. Greens are rolled and cut short, some of the fastest/toughest greens in the area. Rather expensive but their twilight rate is affordable. One of the top public courses in the Cashiers area.
