Santa Ana Golf Clubs include two courses, the 18 hole Twin Warriors and the 27 hole Santa Ana, both part of the Santa Ana Pueblo Casino, located just outside of Albuquerque. Twin Warriors plays to 7736 yards, 130 slope from the back tees, and was designed by Gary Panks in 2001. It's routed through the high desert, rolling terrain, with plenty of waste areas of covered with Juniper and Pinon Pine. It's a definite desert experience with the fairways and greens contrasting the the dry arroyo's and views of the butte "Snakehead" and a background of the Sandia Mountains. It's a good golf course, decent customer service, and well kept, but it's expensive, over $100 in season. The alternative course is the Santa Ana Golf Club, more of a daily fee golf course, and is half the price, but it gets a lot of play. The course is less of a desert coourse than Twin Warriors, and includes eight lakes, moderately rolling fairways, and large soft greens. The Jemez Mountains to the west, the Sangre de Cristos to the north, and the Sandia Mountains immediately east, provide a neat setting. Not one of my top ten in New Mexico, but still a decent course to play.

A superb, challenging course, long and tight landing areas. Challenging par fours, par threes are different lengths and require different shots and strategies. Finishing five holes are spectacular. Awesome course but humbling experience, really exposes the flaws of your golf game.
