Sandy Hollow is owned and operated by the Rockford Park District, and is located on the southeast side of town, off US 20 at 20th St and Sandy Hollow. It's a good solid course, traditional with tree lined fairways over rolling hills, mostly straightforward with a couple of doglegs. It's on the short side and somewhat forgiving off the tee, 6,200 yards, par 71, with a 115 slope and a 69.3 course rating. However, errant shots are punished by the trees on most every hole. The one negative on the course is the greens, especially late summer and beyond, they just don't seem to hold up well, but the balance of th curse is well conditioned with a basic clubhouse and food service. Easily walkable, low greens fees, well managed facility.
