7772 yards, 125 slope from the back tees, It is a challenging course, but great fun, and was laid out by a former Nicklaus architect, Scott Miller, who also created Arizona's We-Ko-Pa. The course is located on New Mexico's largest Indian Reservation in northwest Albuquerque, at the I-25/Tramway exit. The course is fantastic, forgiving resort style, and in great shape. The views of the Rio Grande Valley and the Sandia Mountains go forever on a clear day. The course is long, and challenging, yet fair. Well conditioned, and reasonably priced for the quality of the course and experience.

Beautiful setting for a golf course in the middle of the desert range, tight ribbons of fairways routed within the lay of the land. Striking contrasts, shot values, forgiving, but challenging at the same time. The greens tend to be open in the front to allow for the bump n run, and recovery shots. With the mile high elevation here, the ball flies, so playing from the 7,100 yard tips is like playing from 6,500 yards, and was fun.

Sandia is long; I'm a 10 handicap and even from the blues (middle tees) some holes are tough to reach in regulation. The greens can be very fast, especially away from the mountain. The course is well designed with beautiful vistas. You may see roadrunners and hawks. Sandia is well manicured. Depending on the time of year, the rough can be thick. The champions club is a great value. Sandia is an entertaining course, so plan a visit to Albuquerque and be sure to include Sandia on your play list.

Layout was challenging and was in immaculate condition. Greens were lush and very fast. Fairways and rough were well tended everywhere. Staff was not overly friendly but they may have had preparation for a corporate outing on their minds. I will go back at sometime to play
