Sand Hollow Golf Course is part of a resort and real estate development, east of I-15 at exit 16. 27 holes here, a championship John Fought design of 7300+ yards, and a links style 9 hole layout. Great elevation change throughout the course as its routed along massive sandstone rock outcroppings, ridges, and walls near the Sand Hollow Reservoir and Recreation area...beautiful course and setting, extremely well maintained, and super shot values, surrounded by the desert. Good sized greens, well guarded by bunkers and the coral sand desert scrub. The Links course is OK to play, but if you just have time for 18, it's got to be the Championship course. It's fun and challenging, a great experience.

Played SH on a swing thru Western US last summer. It was best of the 24 public courses we played. Views on the back nine are unparalleled and shot values are pretty high as well. Bring your camera.

Pace of play was a little slow, conditions were excellent though, and the rates, while expensive were in line with the quality of the course. With the choices for golf in the St. George/Mesquite area, Entrada, Coral Canyon, The Ledges, Green Spring, Sunbrook, St. George Golf Club, Southgate, Wolf Creek, Oasis, Wolf Creek is the best in that area, but then I'd probably put Sand Hollow 2nd among those courses with Entrada and Coral Canyon to follow.

Sand Hollow provides a slew of strategic options, breathtaking beauty and a challenge that can push the limits of all types of players. Hats off to Golfweek for rating it #1 in The Beehive State for public course options. The Links course is interesting to play, but the main 18 hole course is primo!

Found Sand Hollow on this website as we were traveling through Utah. The course was in good shape, and we played in the late afternoon, just a twosome, and played in just over 3 hours. The first 8 holes are open and links style, while the rest of the course gets up into some elevation change, and was just stunning, especially in the late afternoon. just fantastic. Tough course though, found the fairways too narrow for my game, not the golf course's fault. The greens were good sized, and being on in regulation didn't necassirly mean a two putt!

The golf course is in a resort that may never take off, not much in the way of housing or development along the course which is great. Excellent conditioning. The championship course was excellent, the fronts side was more open and forgiving than the back, but a nice warm-up. We also played the links course, a nice walkable open links style of layout, but doesn't have the strength of the Championship. Would highly recommend if you're in the St George area.
