The Salem Golf Club is on the southwest side of Salem, off the I-5 at exit 253. It's a semi-private golf club that's been around since the 1920's, and not much has changed with the design or routing except the trees have grown considerably. It's a parkland style of layout designed by the initial owner Ercel Kay, somewhat short at 6,200 yards, par 72, with a 68.4 course rating and a 114 slope. Most every hole has tree lined fairways, there's water in play on three holes, very straightforward routing, and small greens with a few bunkers. You can go low here if you can stay out of the trees, nothing tricky about the course at all, it's right in front of you. Nicely conditioned, good old style clubhouse, and excellent food service, scenic setting, and reasonable rates.
