Salem Glen Golf & Country Club

Salem Glen is southwest of Winston Salem in Clemmons on the north side of the Yadkin River. Nice layout routed through a residential community with either homes, trees, or lakes or streams lining the holes, a Jack Nicklaus design and very challenging. It's had its share of issues with the condition of the golf course...greens, fairways, and traps, and it's a shame because the design has a lot of potential The front side is more of a link-style of layout over relatively flat land with some water in play and more than half of the holes are set in the Yadkin River basin. The back side changes quite a bit with more elevation, and is much more enjoyable in my opinion. Tanglewood just up the road is a much better course and conditions always better, Salem Glen would be a good option if it were maintained better and had lower rates.
