The Club was founded on Bull Island in 1885, and is located in Dublin 3, and is a classic out and in golf links on slightly rolling linksland. The layout was revised by H.S. Colt and Sir Guy Campbell in 1935, and revised by Martin Hawtree in 2006. It measures 6,420, par 70 from the daily tees. It's a relatively short nine going out at 2900 yards, and the prevailing wind is against you for the 3400 yards coming back. It's a fairly compact course, tight holes with OB, narrow fairways, burns, and deep pot bunkers. The greens have good contouring, are of moderate size, guarded by deep bunkers, and are well conditioned. A wee bit pricey, but an enjoyable experience if you happen to be in Dublin for the day.
