Roy Kizer is the newer course at this 36 hole layout with Jimmy Clay the original course. It's on the north side of Austin between William Cannon and Ben White, halfway between I-35 and the Austin Airport. It's a muni, owned and operated by the City of Austin, and was designed by Randolph Russell in the early 1990's. It's a open and links-style layout routed through lakes an wetlands on an old water treatment plant. The layout is flat with mounded fairways, generally in good shape, my only complaint is that it does play slow. Rates are low, it's a typical muni experience, nothing fancy with the clubhouse or facilities, a lot of poor players slowing down play, but if you're looking for value this is a good choice. Overall though, great golf facility for the public, two excellent courses, a four hole short course, practice range, short game area.
