Rockledge is 5 minutes west of downtown Hartford, off I-84, exit 41 on the north side. The course is 6436 yards and plays to a par 72 with a slope of 129 from the blues, re-designed by William Mitchell in the 1940's, who added to a layout from the 1920's by Mike Sherman. The course has a lot of history, in fact Tommy Armour was once the head pro here. The layout is mostly parallel, but separated by trees, and winds around the trees and lakes with a stream running through the middle of it.It's a classic traditional style of course with a nice mix of mild holes as well as some tough ones. Usually well maintained, greens fees are reasonable, but it does get a lot of play, especially on the weekends. .

Rockledge was pristine over the weekend, the recent rains helped green up the course a lot, and the greens were holding better. Exceptional layout for the traditional minded golfer, and very reasonable rates for the quality of the golf.
