The Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club is the long time private club on the Island between Davenport and Moline, owned and operated by the U.S. Army. It's one of the oldest courses in the Quad-Cities, and a real classic layout. The layout is over flat land through tree lined fairways, very tight off the tee, and extremely challenging, and not for the higher handicappers. It has fours sets of tees, and can play as long as 6,500 yards, or as short as 5,500 yards. The course is routed along the Mississippi, and the army base, and has been private forever, but recently has opened to the public, and worth a play. While the course is at least 100 years old, it's been updated over the years, and is maintained in excellent condition. Nice addition to the public golf courses in the Quad Cities areas.

Greens are in excellent shape, fairways very good. A little patchiness in the rough is being addressed by roping off areas to allow regrowth. Pretty challenging layout, maybe not the best course for beginners.
