RiverWatch is about 1 1/2 hours east of Nashville near Sparta, south of Cookeville in the Ragland Bottom Recreation Area. Beautiful golf course, pure golf no houses or development,. played there last week and the course was in overall good shape and I enjoyed playing it. The greens were in great shape and their undulations and speed will give you a good test. It took a couple holes to figure out yardages and realize that hitting long into many of the greens means you will NOT find your ball as they bounce off and go straight down the steep slopes into the trees. Not much in the way of clubhouse or facilities, but very good value, fun, and challenging depending on the tees you choose. The course was designed by Peter Jacobson, Jim Hardy & Jerry Lemons, and has got a little of everything, elevation change, fairway mounding, water, sand, and mostly tree lined fairways. We thought it was very challenging from the Orange tees at 6,413 yards, 71.0/126 ratings. Nice find out in the middle of nowhere!
