Riverside Golf is off Riverside Drive, southeast of downtown Austin. The course is usually not in the best of shape, but it's close to town, and the rates are very low for the Austin area. It has some history, was designed by Perry Maxwell in the 1950's as the Austin CC where Harvey Penick taught Ben Crenshaw and Tom Kite to play golf. Not a difficult course at 6,300 yards from the tips, 69.0/123, parkland style of layout with scattered trees lining the fairways, little in the way of sand or water, and small, raised greens. Jimmy Clay is a better course for the money, though, in this price range.
