Renaissance Vinoy Resort

The Vinoy Club is a private golf course, but if you're staying at the Renaissance in St. Pete you have playing privileges. It's an original Donald Ross layout, redesigned by Florida architect Ron Garl. Parkland style of layout with tree lined fairways, plays to 6,590 yards, with a 71.7 course rating and a 130 slope. The course is on Snell Isle, about 15 minutes from the hotel, and is routed through an upscale residential community. The course was a treat to play, very challenging with the redesign restoring it to the "Ross" original layout, just modernized a bit. The resort was a classic old Florida Spanish style architecture, restored and update, a great location, close to the shops and restaurants of downtown St. Pete.
