The course is home to the Shell Houston PGA Tour stop, and is a Rees Jones design and plays to 7422 yards from the tips, 138 slope. The shortest par five from the back tees is 564 yards, so forget about getting home in two on any of them. The course is very challenging with a good number of bunkers and water hazards, and highly undulating, and sloping greens which are fast. Overall, it's a very good golf course, and has a chance to become a truly superior one with time. It starts out with three short, and open par 4's before it starts getting tough, and balance of the course gets very challenging. Each hole is totally unique, requiring a different course management strategy. The course conditions are generally good, and the service levels consistent with a private club experience. It's an easy course to walk, and enjoyable to play, a little more forgiving than I would have imagined. It's expensive to play, but I guess when you play a course the pros play, that's to be expected. There's a second course here, the Members course, designed by Jacobson Hardy designs, and open to guests of the Houstonian, but the Tournament course is the one to play in my opinion.
