Red Tail Run is a relatively new course in the area, opening in 2006. It's a challenging layout, mostly links style with wide open fairways bordered by tall fescue type grasses, with a couple of holes bordered by trees. It was designed by Ray Floyd It's on the south side of Decatur on Grove Road, off Ripley in Wildwood Park. We play from the white tees, where it's 6,64 yards, 69.2/118, but they also have 4 other sets of tees. The course is routed over level ground, and while it's mostly wide open, one is rewarded with well place shots off the tee. Errant drives that find the rough will be penalized by at least a shot to get back on the fairways. The greens are good sized, with slight undulation, and it's well bunkered. Since the course opened, it has become one of the better courses in the area, and while it's technically a muni, has a nice facility and is generally well maintained now that it has grown in.

Generally well maintained fairways and greens. The front 9 seems to be in better condition than the back, but in comparison to other courses in the area - this course is a wonderfully pleasant play.
