6702 yards from the championship tees, 129 slope, designed by Raymond Floyd and is located on Florida's west coast between Naples and Fort Myers. This course is routed through essentially the swamp and is surrounded by wetlands and lakes, and with no traps other than the natural waste areas. It's a neat course to play, in a protected environment, and is very well conditioned, and interesting layout. If you're staying at the Naples Hyatt, you have golf privileges here, you also may be able to get on if you're a daily fee player, but you need to call. It's definitely a unique course for Florida, not your typical carved out lakes and built up fairways, the course was routed through the land as it is, and is a Audubon International Gold Signature Sanctuary Certification. The terrain is mostly through scrubby wetlands and hammocks, palmettos, keeping most everything as is. Another unique aspect, there are no bunkers, good for me, but there's water on 14 holes to make up for it. The fairways are wide and forgiving, and seem to flow into the greens, with a bit of illusion, trying to determine where the fairway leaves off and the green starts. Shotmaking becomes an exercise in both understanding the yardage and wind, and playing the course a few times. Without the bunkering, what it lacks off the in defenses, it makes up for in the approach shots, especially when the trade winds are blowing.

Course was in great shape, challenging and fun layout, was surprised at how reasonable the rates are this time of year, but then again, this is definitely the off-season. With all that's happening with the closing of the Bonita Bay courses and the trouble they're having, Raptor seems to be faring OK.
