Quashnet is in Barnstable off Rt 130 on Great Neck Road. It's a tough parkland style of layout by Geoffrey Cornish that plays to 6,601 yards from the black tees, par 72, with 71.1/132 ratings. Probably the best deal in terms of greens fees on the Cape, a good variety of holes cut out of a forest and marshes, so plan on loosing a few balls. A shotmaker's course where placement is more important than distance, and if you're off the fairways it's generally a ball out of play, lost. The front nine is pure golf without homes, but the backside has a few, but they don't infringe on the golf course. Generally well maintained, and a good value

Fantastic! This course requires concentration and strategy more than any I've played in this area. The distance on most holes is confused by valleys and bends and the greens can cost you a few extra strokes just getting on. What money you save on greens fees will be spent on balls that land anywhere but the fairway.
