One of the top courses in Louisville, especially if you can't get on Valhalla. The initial South and West courses were designed by David Pfaff in 1989, the East Course in 1991. All three nines are routed through Kentucky countryside, of rolling hills, and stands of hardwood trees. The Bermuda grass fairways and bent grass greens were in great condition, even though they'd just had some good rain.Fairways were either very tight to open and forgiving,. Of the 27 holes, the best nine are on the East, so we chose to play the West and East Courses. Sand and water can be found. throughout and there's quite a few elevation changes. Overall conditions were good, but green speed leaves a little to be desired. Probably the best public course Jefferson County has to offer.
