Predator Ridge is a full blown resort in the Okanagan Valley, with lodging, conference center, and real estate development, and two superb golf courses, the newest of which the Ridge, opened in 2010.We played both courses, and would have to say they both rank high on our list as the best golf we've played in B.C. The Ridge course was designed by Doug Carrick, and is stunning throughout, a rugged layout with a number of holes with great views of Lake Okanagan. The Ridge course is full of granite rock framing fairways and provides a natural look to the course. The course has four sets of tees from roughly 5,000 yards to 7,100 yards, and I'd suggest playing from shorter tees than you usually play from for maximum enjoyment. There wasn't much in the way of bunkers, or forced carries, but the first time around the yardage book was helpful to negotiate the terrain some of the more deceptive looks you get from the tee box. The Predator course is the original here, used to be 27 holes, but they used 9 holes to make the Ridge course. It's a beautiful layout as well, although not as spectacular in views or topography as the Ridge course, but a must play if you're in the area. It's routing is through meadows with tall prairie grasses lining the fairways, gets a little linksy through the dunes, and then up on the ridges and through the forests for a parkland style of feel, and is very enjoyable, maybe less penal than the Ridge course. While you don't have to stay at the resort to play the courses, there's a break in the greens fees, albeit slight. You'll pay $125+ to play either course here, unless you're here in the off season, a little pricey, but the whole experience was very well done.

It is a fun course and was in great shape when we played last week. The Greens were beautifully maintained and the surrounding landscaping in and around the fairways made it scenically pleasing. There are a lot of bunkers sculpted into the rises and swales, but they are more aesthetic then penalizing unless the shot is way off aim. The mix between really challenging holes and fairly easy holes was good, but pay attention to yardage. Some well hit long drives ended up being penalized because of hidden danger off the tee. The staff was great and very attentive. Overall a great day of golf.
