Full blown four season resort here, but you can just play golf without being a guest of the lodge. Two championship courses here. The East Course, was designed by Donald Ross, and is a mountain style parkland course with tight tree lined fairways with rolling and sloping terrain, playing to small and elevated greens, which are tough to hold. From the back tees, it's 6500 yards, 118 slope. The West Course, was designed by George Fazio, Tom's uncle, and plays to 7000 yards from the back tees, 118 slope, and is a little more forgiving off the tee, but has similar elements. I would always suggest playing the East course over the West, just a more enjoyable game, and you don't have many opportunities to play a Ross course anymore.

Played before the snow fell this year in late October. There's 36 holes we played, the shorter East Course, designed by Donald Ross from 1927, and the longer, flatter West, designed by George Fazio from the late 1950's. The East has a lot of blind shots, grass bunkers and small, flat, fast greens. The West is a more traditional test, with larger greens and very straightforward. Two completely different courses that offer distinct challenges. The East is a tree-lined thrill-ride, has up-and-down hills and is full of twists, turns, trouble and truly unique holes. The West is muscular, straight forward and a favorite of long-ball hitters.
