The Pines and the Palms are two 18 hole munis run by the city of Pompano Beach, both very busy in the winter. the Pines is longer at 6,886 from the back tees, the Palms at 6200 yards. Both were designed by Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. Course opened in the 1960's. Some open links style holes with easy rolling fairways with a good of longer and shorter par 4s, tough par 5s, and challenging par 3s. Mostly forgiving off the tee, but trees can come into play at times, along with water on a few holes. It's crazy here in the winter to get on the course, unless you play late in the day or during the slower periods during the week. Conditions are what you'd expect for a muni with a lot of play, but tolerable.
