Pinecrest is west of Chicago in Huntley, take I-90 to to the IL 47 exit, then north through town to Algonquin, then east. The course is between a couple of residential communities with a few houses on the golf course, but mostly it's just golf. It's been around since the 1970s, and is a good solid track. Was designed by Ted Lock, and from the tips plays to 6,636 yards, 71.5 course rating and 123 slope. Fair layout, straightforward, no mystery here, just hit the ball straight, and you'll score. The course is always well kept, it is still challenging each and every time. There are now five lakes, a lot of sand, and some heavy tree lined fairways to interfere with a good score. Overall, good solid golf course, reasonable rates, nice clubhouse and facilities, mid-scale level course and environment.
