Pinecrest is off the beaten track a bit, not in any real golf destination, at the Lumberton exit off I-95, just north of the South of the Border exit. We stopped to play it on our way to Florida. Good shape, traditional course with tree lined fairways of 6600 yards, 127 slope from the back tees, small pushed up greens, good bunkering. Pinecrest has a front nine laid out by a Dick Wilson and a back nine with greens sketched by Donald Ross, in 1948, so it has a little history to it. Nice break from the drive, good food in the clubhouse, and in all just 5 hours.
