Pheasant Run Resort is located out in West Chicago, about an hour from downtown. You don't have to be a guest at the resort to play the courses, but there's a discount if you do. The original course here is the Resort Course, a parkland style layout by Bill Maddox and plays to 6,315 yards, 70.4/123 from the tips. Actually, a very enjoyable and playable course with straightforward hole design, good conditions, a little water in play, but the greens fees seemed to be a little expensive.Prairie Landing is the other course associated with the resort, and I believe it's alson on ForeLinksters on its own. It's located on the south side of Dupage airport from Pheasant Run and the original course. It's a links type of layout by Robert Trent Jones Jr., tough course, especially when the wind's blowing, too many bunkers, and expensive.

Pheasant Run is a first class golf course from the time you walk in the club house until when the clubby hops on the back of your cart to clean your clubs off at the end of the round. The food is fantastic, we started our round off with bacon egg and cheeses, then picked up hotdogs at the turn. The conditions were great, the tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in excellent shape. If you haven't checked out Pheasant Run lately you are truly missing out on a fabulous course.
