Pezhekee National Golf Course is about 2 hours (120 miles) northwest of downtown Minneapolis in the Glacial Ridge area of the west central part of the state. It's a fine golf course at reasonably rates and from the tips plays to 7,263 yards, par 72, 75.2/138 ratings, and was designed by Bill and Jim Peters, opening in the 1960's, and is part of Peters Sunset Beach Resort. There's five sets of tees total, and even from the middle tees, it's still a long golf course, with most two-shotters over 400 yards, and all the par threes north of 160 yards with each named with a Native American Indian name, most revolving around the folklore of Princess Minnewaska. Great golf course for the shotmaker's, where placement is key rather than distance. They also have a 19th hole, and it's not a bar, it's a 140 yard par 3 where a lot of bets are settled. Overall, a very strong golf course, in good condition, at reasonable rates, weekend are a little more expensive.
