Located in the far northeast of Scotland, 15 miles north of Cruden Bay, 2 hours east of Nairn, on the North Sea. It's one of the oldest clubs in Scotland, founded in 1841, with golf played on the current site since 1892 with modifications over the years by Willie Park, Jr, Laurie Auchterlonie, and James Braid. There's 27 holes here, the Old 18, a short 6,200 yards is the track you'll want to play. It's a solid links layout, routed over the sandhills and valleys with undulating fairways bordered by high native grasses, with the wind howling most of the time. The course has some great and interesting holes, and is a challenge, even at the shorter yardage. The course really starts on #4, and provides great views of the countryside, coastline, even out to the oil rigs on the North Sea. An all around good course, reasonably priced, and provides a pair if you're planning on playing Cruden Bay.
