Located in the southwest of England, Perranporth has great views across the sea and the long beach adjoining the course. It was designed in 1927 by five times Open Champion James Braid, and the layout remains pretty much the same. It's a reasonably priced links course, and and interesting and varied layout. The fairways are typical links texture providing good, firm lies with the few bunkers in play. The course measures 6252 yards, S.S.S. is 72 and par is 72. The greens were outstanding, hard, fast, and true. amongst the best in the south west. Can't remember whether it was the 8th or 9th but you need to keep your ears open, as it's easily missed, for the bell to play on because of the steep bank cuts your vision of players ahead. Be wary of the public fairway that cuts across also on the 8th.
