The course plays to 7026 yards, 146 slope from the back tees, and was designed in 1988 by Jack Nicklaus. It's far from a resort course, "Nicklaus" penal, so pick the right tees for your game. The back nine, is routed through marsh and wetlands, the front is a more traditional parkland layout, where all level of golfers will be able to play well. The fairways are for the most part a bit narrow here, and accuracy is rewarded, not necessarily length. There's some good doglegs, both left and right, and the holes are generally straightforward. The trouble comes in the form of water hazards, including a few carries off the tee, trees in fairways, long bunkers and greens that have as much slope and undulation as you want to deal with. It's one of the more difficult courses along the Grand Strand, especially the par-3s, which may be the best combination in Myrtle Beach. Great service, conditions throughout, a pleasure to play.
