Paradise Point Golf Course is located on Camp LeJeune on Brewster Boulevard about two miles past the Naval Hospital. It's operated by the military, but open for public play, and has two 18 hole championship level courses. The Scarlet course is the shorter and easier of the two at 5,865 yards from the tips, par of 70, 67.2/112 and was designed by Fred Findlay in the 1940's. Probably a better layout for the higher handicappers. It's very playable, traditional style of layout with pine tree lined fairways over flat land without much in the way of trouble, but is not the caliber of the Gold. George Cobb designed the Gold in the 1940's as well, it plays to 6,800+ yards from the tips with a 73.0 course rating and a 126 slope, and is definitely the best layout of the two, and the better conditioned. Nice mix of long and short holes, fine set of par 3's, and a couple of the par 5's are reachable in two, the fairways are all tree lined, but roomy enough off the tee. Very well run facility with an updated clubhouse and restaurant, also two driving ranges, one grass and the other covered with 20 bays, along with three putting greens and a practice field on the premises.
