Overlook is northwest of Boston by an hour in Hollis. Take Route 3 (Everett Turnpike). In Nashua, NH, take exit 5 West towards Pepperell, MA. The course is a semi-private course designed by David Friel, par-71, 6,539 yards, 70.2/127 from the Blue tees, and opened in 1989. Nice elevation change, especially No. 8, a stunning par-three, visually a cliff hanger at 170 yards, with bunkers around the left side of the green. Elevated tees, water, sand, tree lined fairways, doglegs, elevation change, this course has it all, and at a good rate, and usually in great shape. Set on and routed along the Nashua River, it's very scenic, and a good challenge.

Leave your woods in the car. Unless, of course, you hit them straight, but if you can do that, you might as well join the PGA Tour. It's is made for good iron or rescue woods, with tight fairways guarded by trees and nine doglegs. That’s half the course where you won’t see the pin from the tee. Beautiful course, with impressive conditions and mental challenges around each corner. The Nashua River, which loops around the outskirts of the course, offers some great views and tricky tee shots on the front and back nines. There are also a few ponds that can make for tough holes. The three par-5s are the most memorable. Leading off the front and back nines, holes 1 and 10, and then the closing 18th hole are all long par-5s that require several long, accurate shots and some good strategy and ball placement as well. Played yesterday when the greens were undergoing the process of aeration, short putts become near impossible with the bumpy terrain of aerated greens. I missed about six 3-footers during my round and ended up with several three putts. It’s a course with such a quiet atmosphere, you can’t help but relax and appreciate your surroundings. It has a “private course feel” but is open to anyone. Of all the public courses I’ve played, The Overlook has to be among the nicest. It easily ranks near the top when it comes to public courses in New Hampshire, at least of the dozens I’ve played

Played 36 holes on yesterday. Course was in the best shape I have ever played there. Staff was really nice. Some of the best golf in the area. Great hotdog as well!
