The Onion Creek Club is a private 27 hole course on the south side of Austin, just off I-35, north of the 130 Toll Road. They do have public tee times with GolfNow, and it's a treat to play the course, always well conditioned with an upscale, private feel to the course and the clubhouse. It was originally designed and developed by Jimmy Demaret, and a new nine holes added and integrated with the original design by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in the mid 1990's, now with a total of 27 holes. A true shot maker's layout, heavy tree lined fairways, well bunkered, relatively flat with a creek running alongside a number of holes. Nice blend of tight, tree lined holes with some more open links-type holes, challenging, and extremely well conditioned. It was also the original course where the Senior PGA Tour got its start.
