One of the Lowcountry’s premier public course selected by Golf Digest as one of the “top ten new public courses of 1992. It's located west of Hilton Head off US 278, adjacent to Hilton Head National. Old South has live oak tree lined fairways, rolling hills and great views from island greens. It was designed by Clyde Johnston, who used a minimalist approach to the design by not disturbing much of the land for the course. The layout has a lot of variety from the parkland style of holes to those along the tidal salt marsh. and require good course management to score well. Like playing in a wildlife sanctuary, great fun, a number of forced carries, but overall fair, but definitely challenging, and in good shape. Contact the golf course directly for tee times, or check
