The Ocala Golf Club is a muni on the east side of Ocala off Silver Springs Blvd. It's been recently restored and updated by Mike Beebe, and is a great value for golf in the area. It's a traditional course, has been around for years, but was never really up to today's standards. There's a bit of everything here, water, sand, doglegs, tight and open fairways, playing to 6,552 yards from the back tees, with a 70 course rating and a 120 slope. It's reasonably priced, but does get a lot of play, and can be slow at times. It's always a challenging course if you're off line with the driver with the tight tree lined fairways, and you'll need a good shot game to hit the small greens, with a difficult up and down, if you don't. Good solid course, and a good value, they've been maintaining it better since it was re-designed.

Very old style and very tight. If you are in this area there are many more courses with better layouts. Most ladies like this course - my wife did, but if you spray you can be in deep trouble with OB.

The conditions were very good indeed, and the nice day made it a pleasure to play. This is not what I would call a 'must play', but a good solid layout and value if you're in the area. A course of this quality in the mid-$20 range is quite a good deal. This course is VERY heavily played, yet in really great shape.
